Cattleya amethystoglossa is one of the bifoliate Cattleya species, and grows mostly in the Bahia state of Brazil. It's a cool to warm grower.
These grow to big plants, and can tolerate a lot of light.
This is one of my favourite species. 'O.M.' is my plant, and it's the first time I've used it in breeding. It's got great presentation, good contrast and a good, flat lip. 'Jaguar' is a well known plant with a good few awards to its name.
