This is a cross between two fantastic speciosums. Both parents are D. speciosum variety curvicaule, which is the form found in the Mackay hinterland. These particular two plants are both noteworthy plants of the variety. 'Eungella Dawn' is a plant that I originally got from Gerry Walsh, who got it from Tony Blewitt. It has a brilliant white/cream coloured arrangements of blooms on quite long racemes. The other parent is Jaq's Moon Best (which is a selected seedling of 'Jacqueline' x 'Daylight Moon') bred by Ross Harvey (who was in business as Cedarvale Orchids). This plant won Champion species at the native orchid society Kabi 2016 show. It's got amazing big and chunky flowers with amazing texture and flower arrangement.
Seedlings are established in 80mm pots as shown in photos 2 and 3. Flower photos show both parents of this cross. Sorry, no sales to Tas, WA or the NT due to state plant quarantine laws.
