Brassavola nodosa

Regular price $30.00 Sale

Seedlings of Brassavola nodosa - at or near flowering size, as we've flowered a few of this batch already this year.

Brassavola nodosa is a species from the Mexican peninsula, Columbia and the Caribbean coast and islands with thick fleshy leaves. It's a relative of the Cattleyas, and has been used extensively in hybridization with them, to produce plants like Bc. Morning Glory, Bc. Gulfshore's Beauty, and a heap of others.

It's a plant that thrives in fairly exposed sunny locations in the wild. They like an open mix, and a quite dry winter. They flower sporadically a few times through the year for me, and have a strong fragrance (but only in the early evening). They're moth pollinated in the wild.

Plants for sale are established in 80mm pots.
